The Mela aims to promote the health and well being of residents in order to get local people to interact with health services and carry out health checks. This is conducted through a mix of both informative and entertaining activities, such as games and health advice stalls. In addition visitors can also receive free health checks on eyesight, hearing, blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
The event’s chief guest Charles Shuttleworth, the Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire and many more exhibitors provide information and education on health for those interested, along with a range of stalls and activities promoting health and well-being. This intends to provide health education and advice in a non-threatening, friendly and fun environment with the aim to improve awareness of health-related issues.
